The Olympus AS-2400 guarantees easy transcriptions of any DSSPro, DSS, WAV, WMA, and MP3 recordings.

For dedicated transcription needs, Olympus offers the AS-2400 Transcription Kit which includes an RS-28H footswitch and E-103 Headset for hands-free operation.

Data can be labelled according to importance or priority and files can be viewed at any time. It allows easy transfer from the voice recorder to the secretary’s office.

The Olympus AS-2400 is compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Included in the kit is Software for Mac OS X 10.3.9 through to 10.11 El Capitan.


The Olympus AS-2400 is also part of a Starter Kit which includes the DS-2500 Digital Recorder. Together they are a perfect match for a basic single user author/typist setup.

Ordered on-line in Glasgow and delivered promptly the next day to Aberdeen.  Regularly used equipment so knew what we were getting and my colleague is very happy with the quality of transcription she can now make.

Olympus software program was very easy to install on Windows 10.  Looks like it's easy to use (but I just installed it today so I can't give a professional opinion yet).  I did notice that it played WAV files though.
Headset is INCLUDED with this starter kit !
Foot pedal was also easily installed  : connect the pedal AFTER you have installed the software.  On a Windows 10 computer the device is automatically recognized and the driver installs itself.  The pedals are configurable through the ODDS software.
Foot pedal can also be used as a non-transcription related input device (for example to mimic mouse button actions) but for this, a download is necessary - the link is provided in the software manual.  I didn't do this so don't know if it works.
All in all very pleased with this purchase !
